As regards its first objective, the Society established an Ayurvedic Dispensary at Chandiwala Estate, Kalkaji, New Delhi in 1980. In 1995, the Society established a state-of- the art Eye Hospital at Chandiwala estate which is now a multi-specialty hospital and is known as Banarsidas Chandiwala Institute of Medical Sciences. Almost all the facilities exist in this hospital and it has specialization in Eyes, Diabetes, ENT, and Physiotherapy etc. The Society is also running an Eye clinic, Dental clinic & Homeopathic Clinic in its building at Paiwalan, Chawri Bazar, Delhi.

AS 1959, the Society started a girls’ college which is affiliated to Delhi University and is known as JANKI DEVI MEMORIAL COLLEGE. Around 2000 girls study in under graduate and post graduate courses in this college. Besides, it also provides number of vocational training programmers to the needy and poor girls to prepare them to be self-employed. The college is situated at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital Marg, Old Rajendra Nagar, New Delhi. In 1999, the Society established Banarsidas Chandiwala Institute of Information Technology which runs Masters of Computer Application programme, affiliated to GGs Indraprastha University.

In 2003 the Society established a Physiotherapy college known as Banarsidas Chandiwala Institute of Physiotherapy, which is a 4 ½ years degree course affiliated to GGS Indraprastha University. In 2009, we also started MPT programme (Masters of Physiotherapy).

In the year 2008, the Society established Banarsidas Chandiwala Institute of Professional Studies, at its building situated in Dwarka, New Delhi. This institute started running MBA course in 2008. In 2009, it also started BBA courses and BBA Second shift in 2010. All these courses are duly affiliated to GGS Indraprastha University.

To propagate Gandhian Ideology of helping the society and to give to them the benefits eluding them, the Secretary of the Society Dr. Bhuwan Mohan visited East Champaran from where Gandhiji started his political career in 1917. During his visit, he went to all the places which were connected with Gandhiji, including a primary school as well as middle school. He also attended the annual event organized by CHAMPARAN SANSKIRITIK MAHOTSAV in Motihari (East Champaran), where he was approached by a number of persons who requested him to establish an Eye Hospital in Motihari because people have heard about the Society’s Eye Hospital at Chandiwala Estate, Kalkaji, New Delhi. The Secretary committed to establish an Eye Hospital in Motihari, but the fulfillment of this commitment was a gigantic task. Lots of problems were confronted to open the eye Hospital. One of them was procurement of land. Offers of land have come from different quarters but all the offers of land has one problem or the other. Many years passed but no concrete proposal could be finalized. It was becoming a burden on the mind of the Secretary, who was feeling very uneasy since he was not able to fulfill his commitment, but was helpless, as procurement of undisputed/clean land in Bihar is a big problem. ultimately, the society was in opposition to procure this piece of land, where as per the commitment, an Eye Hospital has been constructed. Lot of difficulties arose while the building was being constructed. In Delhi, we used to construct the building within one year of procurement of land, but here we could not find a proper contractor who could construct because the water level was quite high and there was no technology in Motihari where a building of our choice and requirement could be constructed. Anyways, one the construction started, we overcame all the difficulties and brought contractors from Patna as well as Delhi to finish this construction Now you can see for yourself that a building of such magnitude has been constructed and today we are in a positions to invite our Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar ji to inaugurate this hospital, which is dedicated to the people of Motihari in fulfillment of its commitment to them by the Society. This hospital has been built at a cost of Rs. 3 cores and it took four years to complete it.

The aim of the Society is that people of this district and surrounding areas are provided with the best eye care facilities here itself instead of traveling to far of places including Nepal, thereby incurring lot of expenses. Now we think that this will be reversed and people from Nepal will visit this place since this hospital will use state of art equipment and the latest technology for operations called PHACCO EMULSIFICATION which a layman calls Laser. This is not the end as Society will also add other sophisticated equipments as per the requirement of the hospital from time to time.
